Hi Maya, here it is. Tap the link and it opens in your browser.
Describe an app and Krate makes it. Send it as a link and it opens in any browser, phones included, with nothing to install. On Mac, Windows and Linux it runs natively.*
Open-source runtime. The same .krate file runs on macOS, Windows and Linux: 10 apps pass on all three in CI at Krate 0.5.4.

..a#..AI makes an app in minutes.
Getting it to people still takes weeks.
Shipping used to mean developer licences, a build and a signature for every OS, a different download for each, and an .exe that gets your whole PC when someone double-clicks it. Hosting a web app instead never feels native. Krate replaces all of that with one file.
A link opens it in anyone's browser, on a phone or a computer, with nothing to install and no account. With the Krate runtime installed, it runs natively, with no browser or WebView inside, and every Krate app after that is just a file.

The same file opens natively on macOS, Windows and Linux, and from a link in any browser, phones included.
Same file on all five. No build per system.
A Krate app starts with no access to your files or the network. Before it opens, you see what it asks for, and you decide.
It gets nothing else. Ask for more, and you are asked first.
One .krate file, every screen
Why Krate
Any browser opens the same .krate from a link, and macOS, Windows and Linux run it natively. No build per system.
The Notes app, start to finish. On a computer, the Krate runtime is installed once and shared by every app; in a browser there is nothing to install.
Notes holding 50,000 lines, against an Electron editor doing the same work.
A warm open of the same 50,000 lines, median of ten runs.
Measured on 25 August 2026 on an Apple M4: Krate against MarkText 0.17.1 (Electron), both ARM64, on the same 50,000-line notes workload. An equivalent workload, not full feature parity. Read the method
Quick capture, a sidebar, search. Saved on your computer, never on someone else's.
A hex viewer, a JWT decoder, a cron explainer. Small tools that do one thing, offline.
Read a CSV, chart it, keep it current. Your numbers stay on your machine.
Little games you can send a friend as a link, and they just play.
Bring an Electron app over and watch it go from hundreds of megabytes to one small file.
Flashcards, quizzes, a periodic table. Send the class one link that opens on every school computer and every phone.
*A link opens a Krate app in the browser with nothing to install. To run it natively, install the Krate app once on macOS, Windows or Linux.
